Bus Makeover!

This post is in partnership with World Market.

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE to be in a cozy space surrounded by friends and family.  My home in Birmingham is set up to be super cozy and inviting, but since I’m on the road so often for my career, I don’t get to enjoy it as much as I’d like to.  I spend a good chunk of my life on a tour bus and unfortunately tour busses can be a little sterile and generic.  I wanted (and NEEDED) a bus makeover, and thanks to my friends at Cost Plus World Market, I was able to do just that.  I’ve been a bit obsessed with Cost Plus World Market for years now and found some amazing items to try and match the feeling of my Birmingham home with my road home.

I started by throwing down some great throw rugs to warm up and ground the space.  It’s amazing what a difference a little color and pattern on the floor will do! After the rugs I added some great throw pillows and a throw blanket to brighten up the couches and to have something cozy to curl up with while watching a movie.  Since my family can’t always be with me, I like to have pictures of them around all the time.  I keep all of my favorite pictures on my cell phone, but loved being able to print out and frame my favorite ones to decorate the kitchen counters.  Next to the pictures, I placed an amazing passion flower smelling candle and got creative with a plant terrarium and used it to hold all of my coffee pods!

My sister-in-law Kaelin (KK) does my hair and makeup before every show, and it’s always hard to find a good chair that we can put in the middle of the bus to make sure the lighting is great.  We typically end up with a metal folding chair that is definitely not comfortable.  We found an incredible gray wicker armchair with a comfy poof that I use as a footstool.  I now actually enjoy getting my hair and makeup done before each show!  Most of the items we fell in love with came from the Jardin Anglais and Jaipur Season collections, with some other finds sprinkled around.

Check out the pics and let me know what you think and how you find ways to make your home cozy!

Love and God Bless,
Sara
